History

During more than 95 years Componenta has gone a long journey. The company was established in 1918 in Helsinki, Finland, by "one man" Mr. Matti Lehtonen, who was the great grandfather of the current President and CEO.

In the very beginning Mr. Matti Lehtonen, the owner of the iron foundry, stated that the main factors creating success will be high quality of the products, competitive prices, quick deliveries and good customer service based on understanding and fulfilling the needs of the customers. The mentioned issues still form the basis for Componenta's competitiveness.

The years from the start of the company until 1980' were time of organic growth. In 1975 the foundry moved from Helsinki to Iisalmi, where it still operates, today under the name of Componenta Finland Ltd Suomivalimo. The first acquisition in the Group was made in 1984 and after that Componenta has grown - in addition to organic growth - also through the acquisitions.

During the years Componenta has widened from Finland to Nordic and further to Europe. Today the Group is multinational with production units in four countries, Finland, Turkey, the Netherlands and Sweden, and is serving globally operating customers. Componenta's wide sales network covers in addition to the mentioned production countries also France, Germany, Italy, Russia, the UK, and the USA.

Today Componenta is one of the largest cast component supplier in Europe. Our goal is to be the preferred casting solutions provider, locally and globally.
